Bush Viper getting ready to strike
Black Seadevil Anglerfish
This rare deep-sea anglerfish—known as a black sea devil—was captured on film for the first time off the coast of central California.
I really like that it seems like more and more yuri is directly confronting and debunking “it’s just a phase” rhetoric and showing how harmful and wrong it is.
I also always love seeing adult lesbians in yuri/anime in general. We even get to see them living together and kissing!
Sayaka is told by her middle school girlfriend their feelings are just a phase. She’s crushed and eventually tries to convince herself its true. But then she sees adult lesbians in a happy relationship, definitive proof its not true. And she’s able to confide in this adult, discuss her feelings of liking girls and see hope for her own future. It’s really great, and it really warms my heart to see depictions of adult lesbians supporting younger members of the community. Bloom into You is Good.
It’s really so good.
The best advice I could give to the young girls for whom social media is a part of their daily life is that it is necessary to stop trying to find themselves through their feed. Stop taking elaborate selfies. Stop using filters that change your facial structure and your skin tone. Stop putting on makeup just for the sake of taking a picture. Stop trying out different angles. Stop faking confidence to curate an aloof online personality. Stop waiting for likes and comments to temporarily make you feel better. It really isn’t worth it, and all it does is create an alternate version of yourself that you can only attain at the price of meticulous efforts, which ultimately shatters your sense of self and places you between a fantasized, but not less real, you on a screen, and the real you, who becomes more and more fictional.

I can’t believe this is a real thing
into the spider-verse has some of the most dynamic, fluid, colorful, beautiful, and expressive animation i’ve seen in years
dreamworks and disney and etc etc have all been fighting each other to see who can animate the most eyelashes and make fabric swish right in the wind
animation has just become a contest to see who can mimic real life (which kind of defeats the purpose lol)
FINALLY an animated film that celebrates its medium!! animation was meant to push the boundaries and express ideas and add visuals real life couldn’t! thank you!!
